A unique looking bullet of the Civil War. The Hanoverian bullets come in a huge range of sizes. This example is .55 caliber. By the time the Civil War came along, these had largely fallen out of favor because the post/stem upon which this system depended quickly wore down in use. This bullet has been excavated in various camps associated with Confederate troops especially early war battle of Shiloh.
