Here is a rare bird all 25mm of it. This is one of the toughest to find of all of the variations of Confederate staff officer’s buttons. It is the version listed as figure CS20 in Albert’s button book and CS251a1 in Tice’s button book. It is the large 25mm coat button that has the droop wing style eagle on the face of the button with the stars around the edge. This one is in good solid shape with a chocolate patina. These buttons were made with the high style dome face that makes it look like a three piece button as is mentioned in the button book. The original back and shank are present.
