These were used extensively in the famous Springfield rifle, these ammunition specimens are the .58 caliber, combustible cartridge in original dug relic condition. The Artifacts have some linen remaining to the bullet and one mostly complete. The way the bullet ignited is the attached case made of white linen that was be completely consumed by the powder charge explosion when fired. It did not need to be opened to expose the powder that was ignited by the flame from a regular percussion cap. One cartridge has a complete linen and comes with a nice glass riker display case. Recovered in Marietta GA near near the Kennesaw mountain line on private property.
