Dixie RelicsDixie RelicsThis is one of my favorite Civil War pieces of Money. It is the 50 cent bank note issued by the Western & Atlantic Railroad in Atlanta, Georgia and is dated June 2nd 1862. Any of these notes are hard to find. What is special about this note design is that at the center of the top it has the likeness of the most famous of all Civil War trains "THE GENERAL". That's right it's the famous train from the chase. It is hand signed and numbers as is correct for this style of note. It measures 5 inches by 2.25 inches in overall size. This is where the note was taken out of circulation by the bank. It comes in an a glass riker case for display with pictures of the General.
