They were bought by loyal, honorable service to the South and were given in recognition of this devotion. The UDC kept a record of each man who received this precious award. These records are on file in the UDC Business Office in Richmond, Virginia. This one is in very nice original condition. It will make a great addition to a collection. This is a Southern Cross made by The Whitehead and Hoag Newark NJ in small print under honor as you can see pictured.
